ATLANTA – (July 3, 2012) Centennial Olympic Park’s 4th of July Celebration will offer fun and entertainment for the entire family.
All five military branches will perform All-American songs, dancers will light up the stage, and patriotic music will take place throughout the evening. Gates open at 6 p.m. and fireworks will go off at dusk. It will be a wonderful musical celebration of our Independence!
The finale of the evening is the Centennial Olympic Park Fireworks Spectacular! This amazing display frames the Downtown skyline and is synchronized to a special selection of patriotic music and Q100 hits. The fireworks will be televised live on WSB-TV, and you can hear the music simulcast on Q100.
Each year, thousands of people come to Centennial Olympic Park to celebrate Independence Day. Attendees are encouraged to take MARTA to minimize traffic. MARTA will have service available from 4:45 a.m. to 1 a.m. to accommodate all of the great July 4th events around town. MARTA offers free daily parking at 23 of its stations. The Park is located near three MARTA stations: Peachtree Center, Dome/GWCC/Philips/CNN and Five Points. Fare is $2.50 each way. For more information about riding MARTA go to: www.itsmarta.com
Large coolers, glass containers, pets, fireworks, weapons, large umbrellas, tents and grills are prohibited. All bags are subject to search. Alcohol may not be brought into the Park; however, it is available for purchase inside, along with food and nonalcoholic beverages. The Fountain of Rings will be closed all day on July 4th. Additionally, Park visitors under 16 years of age are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian 18 years or older at all times.
