ATLANTA (November 4, 2013) – For the 2013 season the Georgia Dome and the Atlanta Falcons have once again partnered with Team Coalition and Team Georgia for the Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge against NFC South rivals the Tampa Bay Bucs and Carolina Panthers.
To date Falcons fans are leading with 37,651 points. The Bucs are in a distant second with 9,276 point and Carolina is in third with 7,608 points.
Each fans who signs up inside the Georgia Dome as a designated driver is worth a “touchdown” (6 points) in the challenge. Each Facebook “like” is worth one point (or an extra point) in the challenge. The Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge winner will be the team with the most points at the end of the season.
Though the four regular season home games this season, 5,439 Falcons fans have pledged to be a designated driver, meaning they are over 21 years of age, they promised not to drink alcohol at the game and they promised to provide safe transportation home from the game for their group.
At the last Falcons home game vs. the Bucs (10/20) over 1,200 Falcons fans took the pledge to be a designated driver.
An NFL wide contest is an extra incentive for fans to sign up to be a designated Driver in 2013. By simply pledging to be designated drivers, NFL fans are eligible to be selected as their favorite team’s Designated Driver for the Season. Two grand prize winners and their guests will attend Super Bowl XLVIII in East Rutherford, NJ, and one first prize winner and a guest will attend the 2014 Pro Bowl®.
Opportunities to sign up to be a designated driver exist at each gate as fans enter the Georgia Dome.
