ATLANTA (January 10, 2012) – The Georgia Dome announced today the additions of Adam Straight as Director of Facility Operations and Erik Waldman as Director of Event Operations to the Dome staff.
“We are very excited to add these two industry pros to Team Dome,” General Manager Carl Adkins said. “The addition of both Adam and Erik will help take the Georgia Dome to the next level of customer service for many years to come.”
Straight joins the Georgia Dome staff from the University of Maryland where he spent the previous 11 years working in athletic facilities and facilities management. While at Maryland, he was instrumental in the success of many programs and events held at campus facilities, including Presidential campaign speeches, high-profile concerts and hosting of various Division I NCAA Playoffs and Championships while supporting 27 athletic teams and their student athletes.
Prior to joining the staff at Maryland he spent five years as a member of the US Coast Guard.
In his new role Straight will oversee all of the back-of-house aspects of the Georgia Dome including Building Services, Engineering, Dome Productions, information technology and fan safety.
Waldman joins Team Dome from the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida, where he served most recently as Vice President / General Manager. In his role as VP/GM he oversaw all aspects of building operations, event services, security, IT and the mail room.
Additionally, he was responsible for managing key vendor relationships for the facility which is home to the NHL Florida Panthers.
Prior to joining the BankAtlantic Center staff he also worked for the Ted Constant Convocation Center and the University of Central Florida Arena.
In his new role Waldman will oversee Dome Security, Executive Services, Event Services and the Ticket Office along with overseeing the relationship between service partners AAA Parking and Contemporary Service Corporation (CSC).
