On Sept. 14, Georgia World Congress Center Authority’s campus was hit with four inches of rain in 20 minutes causing significant impacts across the campus. Due to this historic rainfall, elevators IP5 and IP6 located in the southwest corner of the Red Parking Deck (closest to Mercedes-Benz Stadium) have suffered damage and are inaccessible. The safety of our guests is our top priority and we have taken immediate action to address this issue. However, it is anticipated these elevators will not be in service for several days.

We encourage event attendees to make alternative parking plans if this will impact your ability to get to Georgia World Congress Center or Mercedes-Benz Stadium. We have taken these additional steps to help with the guest arrival experience:

  • GWCCA Transportation Terminal has been activated as an additional drop off location. The terminal is located across from GWCC Building B on Andrew Young International Blvd.
  • Guests needing additional assistance are encouraged to use parking spaces in rows D, F, and G on Level 4 of Red Deck. Elevators on this side of the parking deck are functional and can be used to access International Plaza (street level).
  • All stairways are accessible in the Red Parking Deck. Please be aware of directional signage provided around campus designed to assist with your arrival.

We understand the inconvenience this may cause for some of our guests, and we sincerely apologize for any disruption to your visit to GWCCA’s championship campus.
