Fans have the opportunity to get a head start on the 2018 college football season this weekend on the campus of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA).
The Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame, Chick-fil-A and the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl are partnering to celebrate Atlanta as the capital of college football. On Saturday (Aug. 25), Chick-fil-A will provide free admission to the Hall of Fame and the 2nd annual Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Football Fest will take place on Marietta Street in front of the Hall of Fame. This free football extravaganza set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday brings organizations from across the city together to celebrate Atlanta – and the GWCCA campus – as the epicenter of college pigskin. The festivities will include music, drumlines, mascots, step teams and cheerleaders. The street will be filled with inflatables and football-themed games for fans of all ages to get hyped for the upcoming season and celebrate all that is college football.
The Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame is a 94,256-square-foot attraction located in the heart of Atlanta’s sports, entertainment and tourism district. Adjacent to the Georgia World Congress Center and Centennial Olympic Park, the hall provides visitors with a highly immersive, interactive and engaging experience using a blend of historic college football artifacts and state-of-the-art, interactive multimedia exhibits . The fun-filled football action continues the following Saturday (Sept. 1) when the No. 9 ranked Auburn Tigers take on the No. 6 Washington Huskies at the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (MBS) on the GWCCA campus. Prior to the game, FanZone presented by Coca-Cola is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Building A of the GWCC. It is the ultimate team-oriented area to spend your pregame. Your game ticket is your FanZone ticket and gets you access to games, sponsor activation areas, contests, prizes, giveaways, official Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game merchandise, food, drinks, free samples, and the official Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game pep rallies for both teams.
In addition to FanZone, Tailgate Town Built by The Home Depot will be located on International Plaza, between the GWCC, MBS and Philips Arena from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 1. This is the ultimate free pre-game tailgate destination for fans. This outdoor fan experience features interactive sponsor displays, live entertainment, contests, games and more.
