Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Georgia World Congress Center Authority is uniquely positioned as a top economic engine in the heart of downtown Atlanta, a city known as the "cradle of the Civil Rights Movement." Our mission is to generate economic benefits for all citizens of the State of Georgia and the City of Atlanta and we stand against racism, hate, bigotry, discrimination, and suppression of any kind.
Our Team Members are entrusted ambassadors in our community and are leading our charge to enhance the quality of life for every Georgian.

The JEDI Council Mission Statement

The JEDI Council, an acronym for justice, equity, diversity and inclusion, is an internal resource group at GWCCA that seeks to build on its legacy by: inspiring others to choose behaviors that demonstrate civility and respect; identifying pathways for celebrating distinct skills, experiences, and perspectives; curating access to resources and opportunities; and serving as ambassadors to the campus, the city, the state, and the industry at-large. JEDI’s commitment to foster a more equitable culture transcends business as usual and results in enduring relationships with customers, communities, and each other.

Employer of Choice

GWCCA earned a Top Workplaces honor by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in March 2020. The list was based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 drivers of engaged cultures that are critical to the success of any organization: including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

I love working here because I feel like it’s in the center of everything from Super Bowl to Final Four,” said GWCCA Sales Manager Sarah Wilburg. “Even if I don’t get to directly touch those events it’s amazing to be a part of history and to be around so many people who are working towards making the city of Atlanta one of the top destinations to travel to."

Team Member Engagement

GWCCA hosts numerous events and opportunities to educate Team Members, from events to training and development. In total, GWCCA has invested more than $200,000 in its workforce development over the last 3-plus years.
