At Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA), our mission is clear: drive economic growth that benefits the citizens of Georgia and enhances their quality of life. As a key driver for Georgia’s economy, the Authority achieves this through a variety of ways, including serving as a catalyst for development, tourism, commercial and residential growth, and a major job creator and sustainer. Key to keeping Georgia’s economy vibrant and thriving are infrastructure development and hosting some of the largest and most impactful events in the live events industry.
As the largest combined convention, sports, and entertainment campus in North America, GWCCA facilities offer a distinct advantage. Our connected, walkable campus is minutes from the hotel district, our unique indoor and outdoor meeting spaces offer planners and attendees unforgettable experiences, and our like-no-other brand of Southern hospitality is second to none. And that’s just the start. Our Sales team, in partnership with ACVB, is focused on pursuing and securing the most sought-after live events and high-profile conventions and trade shows that draw enthusiastic crowds from across the country, and around the world. And it’s all giving Atlanta businesses — hotels, restaurants, transportation, retail—a strong boost.
None of this would be possible without keeping our facilities at the top of their game. Over the last 20 years, GWCCA has self-funded millions in upgrades and expansions across its campus, which includes Georgia World Congress Center, Centennial Olympic Park, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Signia by Hilton Atlanta. Staying competitive in the live events industry requires offering best-in-class venues, and these investments ensure that Georgia remains a top destination for tourism and business opportunities.
Looking ahead, the future is bright with ongoing strategic planning and a lineup of exciting events on the horizon. Upcoming highlights include DreamHack, the ultimate immersive gaming experience; FashionFest 2024, the premier urban-pop culture streetwear event; and Anime Weekend, the Southeast’s largest anime convention. Let’s not forget that Atlanta and GWCCA’s campus will host the 2025 College Football Playoff Championship and welcome the world in 2026 during FIFA World Cup. These events, hosted at Georgia World Congress Center, will continue to drive economic growth, and elevate Atlanta as a leading hub for major events.
At Georgia World Congress Center Authority, we are continuously striving to drive economic growth in Georgia. We’re passionate about what we do and excited to keep pushing our state forward together.
