COPPELL, Texas (October 2, 2013) – The International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) has named the Georgia Dome its “Venue of Excellence” award winner in the stadium category for 2013.
This prestigious award recognizes venues including stadiums, convention centers, arenas, and performing arts centers, and academic institutions that demonstrate excellence in the following four criteria: service to the community, team building/professional development, safety and security, and operational excellence.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by the IAVM as a Venue of Excellence” Georgia Dome General Manager Carl Adkins said. “This award is testament to the tremendous efforts put forth by each and every member of our team, day in and day out. I am humbled to be a small part of Team Dome and the Best in Class standard that guides us on our journey to excellence.”
A committee of industry leaders chose the finalists for each venue type, and winners were approved by the IAVM Board of Directors.
“Each winning venue epitomizes what we all strive for in our organizations – a shared sense of purpose and vision with collaboration and innovation at the forefront,” said IAVM President and CEO Vicki Hawarden.
