Georgia Dome Softball Challenge Another Smashing Success
The Georgia World Congress Center Authority’s DOMEnators squared off Wednesday in the second edition of the co-ed softball challenge against the Governor’s office team, Nathan’s Knuckleballers, on the Georgia Dome turf.
It was a hard-fought battle, but ultimately the Knuckleballers prevailed, 12-8, with Gov. Nathan Deal and Georgia’s First Lady, Sandra Deal, in attendance, and many of GWCCA’s staffers and execs cheering from the stands.
While competitive, it was a friendly contest, as the Authority team showed off its Best-In-Class service and hospitality to our visitors.

Though we did not come out with the ‘W’, we definitely had a victory bonding with each other and continuing to enjoy our relationship with Governor Deal’s Office. I want to thank all the players, supporters and staff that helped bring this game together. What an outstanding team we have! I just wanted to send a quick note of thanks and appreciation to all of you. Although we didn’t come out victorious(I would argue that…), we were bonded together as a Team with a common goal. That’s what it’s all about. Togetherness, right? You just played a softball game against the Governors office in the Georgia Dome! How many other people can say that? No one… Just you… I congratulate all of you for your efforts and your time to represent the best Team(Team Authority) on the planet!… I wish we could’ve played another nine innings!…
So ice those limbs(me especially ;)) and be proud of your work. You deserve it!
