GWCCA Announces the Hiring of Carla Sayeh as Director of Internal Audits

(ATLANTA – July 03, 2014) Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) Executive Director Frank Poe announced today the appointment of Carla Sayeh to the newly created position of Director of Internal Audits.

Sayeh joins the GWCCA from First Data Corporation where she has served as the Internal Audit Manager since 2013. She brings over 13 years of domestic and international audit experience to the GWCCA, with a focus on Internal Controls, Sarbanes-Oxley, Operations, Compliance and Financial Audits. Prior to her time at First Data, she also worked for companies such as John Deere, HealthSouth and AGC America.

Sayeh is both a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and an active member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). She earned her bachelor’s degree from Judson College in Marion, Alabama.

“We are excited to have Carla join the GWCCA Team,” Poe said. “The internal audit position represents the Authority’s continued commitment to internal controls, fiscal accountability and sound financial procedures.”

Sayeh is a native of Meridian, Miss. and currently resides in Marietta with her husband Mike.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to partner with the Georgia World Congress Center Authority to review and enhance the internal control framework,” Sayeh said.
