GWCCA salutes 2019 Social Media Day

Happy National Social Media Day!

Social Media Day is celebrated on June 30 every year, founded in 2010 by global, multi-platform media and entertainment company Mashable. This day is set aside to honor the existence and influence of social media in our daily lives.

At the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA), we use social media to spotlight our 220-plus acre downtown Atlanta campus as an ideal meeting and event destination while also staying in direct contact with and informing our key stakeholders on campus improvements.

Our strategy is to entertain, inform and engage followers by sharing informative and insightful company updates, and post a few times each week depending on the channel to encourage interaction. Social media also allows us to build trust while responding to our followers’ questions and messages in a timely manner. We aim to post high-quality engaging articles, graphics, and videos that appeal to our existing and future clients as well as guests.

The GWCCA social media team utilizes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram for the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) and Centennial Olympic Park as well as a LinkedIn account for the GWCCA.

The GWCCA just wrapped up its fiscal year during which our social media channels continued to grow. The graphic below highlights some of these successes from the fiscal year (July 1, 2018-June 30, 2019).

Following our social channels is the best way to get the up-to-date information about our campus.
