Top 5 Most Instagrammable Spots at Centennial Olympic Park

Fall is almost here—time to unpack your favorite sweaters, open the windows, and let the cooler air in. It’s also the perfect season for quality time and outdoor adventures with friends and family.

While all our Georgia World Congress Center Authority properties offer plenty to see and do, perhaps our most iconic is Centennial Olympic Park. You will discover a variety of destinations across its 22-acre greenspace, featuring unique experiences throughout the park. With that in mind, our team has compiled a list of five fan favorite Instagrammable spots for you to explore.

Water Gardens

The cascading series of beautifully landscaped water features that weave through the Five Quilt Plazas creates an idyllic setting for kicking back. Boulders and riverbed rocks, along with meandering walkways, offer a serene contrast to the bustling downtown nearby. Capture the flowing streams, lush scenery, and expansive grassy areas for enchanting and memorable shots.

Picnic on the Great Lawn

Grab your picnic partner and some delicious dishes from one of the many must-try downtown restaurants for a carefree dinner on the lush, sprawling green grass. Lounge on a cozy blanket and capture gorgeous wide-angle shots of the park’s beauty, framed by the majestic live oak trees and manicured landscape.

SkyView Ferris Wheel

While not technically part of the park, the SkyView Ferris wheel towers nearly 20 stories above it. This vantage point offers the perfect opportunity for capturing breathtaking photos, especially during the ‘golden hour’ at dusk. As the sun sets, casting a warm glow over the skyline, you’ll get sweeping views of downtown, with the twinkling city lights below highlighting the vibrant energy of the streets. SkyView also makes for a striking backdrop from within the park, adding a dynamic touch to your photos.

“Tiny Doors” of the Park

These charming and unique “Tiny Doors,” created by local artist Karen Anderson Singer, are sprinkled throughout Atlanta, including in the park. These colorful doors show the spirit and style of the community. They add a fun, fairytale feel to your photos. How many can you find in the interactive mural at the Visitor’s Information Center?

The Spectacular

the spectacular

The Spectacular is 11 feet tall, 23.5 feet wide, and weighs 5,000 pounds. It is one of the most photographed places at Centennial Olympic Park and in downtown Atlanta. Installed in 2019, the Olympic rings sculpture creates an unforgettable display. For a stunning photo, stand in front of the rings at night. Their bright glow mixes with the sparkling lights of the park and city skyline.

Finally, use the park’s free Wi-Fi. It is available near the Visitor’s Center. This makes it easy to share your favorite photos right away.

No matter the season, Centennial Olympic Park remains one of Atlanta’s most beloved landmarks, offering endless photo opportunities and memorable experiences. Don’t forget to tag us @gaworldcongressctr and @centennial_park in your posts—we can’t wait to see how you capture the magic of the park.

Remember, if you plan to visit the park, we recommend using MARTA or a ride-share service because parking can be limited.
