Tuesday Talk: Centennial Olympic Park Visitor Center Update

Tuesday Talk rounds up the latest Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) news you might have missed and also points forward to upcoming events on our campus.

Amid the concerns surrounding COVID-19, Discover Atlanta’s Visitor Information Center at Centennial Olympic Park is closed through March 27, while the Park itself remains open to pedestrian traffic.

As you may recall, the refreshed visitor center reopened in July as a collaboration between GWCCA and Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) and is staffed by ACVB.

And in November, the center was jazzed up with a colorful mural, a collaboration between Lotus Eaters Club and Tiny Doors ATL.

Also located on the GWCCA campus, the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame has temporarily closed effective yesterday (March 16).

“The health and wellness of our guests and team members is a top priority of the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame,” according to a pop-up message posted on the attraction’s website. “Public health experts have called for reducing large gatherings and increasing social distancing. Out of an abundance of caution, we will temporarily close the College Football Hall of Fame for a minimum of one week beginning Monday, March 16 and closely monitor the situation with the intent to return to full operations as soon as possible.”
