Polish up your resume and come on down to the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) on Wednesday (Aug. 28) for Levy Restaurants’ job fair.

Levy, the GWCCA’s food services partner, is hiring multiple positions, including banquet servers, pastry chefs, culinary supervisors, barbacks, cooks, and utility stewards, just to name a few.

The hiring event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the GWCC’s Zell Miller Conference Center in Building B.

VISITOR INFORMATION CENTER UPDATE

The recently retooled Visitor Information Center (VIC) at Centennial Olympic Park, which is now staffed by Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, will close for a couple of upcoming events at the Park.

The VIC, located in the south section of the Park, will be closed Sept. 3-10 for ONE Musicfest, which makes its Park debut Sept. 7-8.

The building will reopen Sept. 11.

And it will close gain Sept. 21 for a private event at the Park, reopening Sept. 22.

THIS WEEK ON CAMPUS

Taking another side-step from the Major League Soccer (MLS) schedule, the Atlanta United vie for another championship on the GWCCA’s championship campus tonight (Aug. 27) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (MBS) in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final. The Five Stripes take on the Minnesota United FC, another MLS club, at 8 p.m. to establish soccer supremacy in the U.S. and a bid for the CONCACAF Champions League group stage is also at stake.

Across Andrew Young International Blvd. at campus neighbor State Farm Arena, the Atlanta Dream hosts the Phoenix Mercury in WNBA action on Thursday (Aug. 29). Tipoff is at 7 p.m.

Prior to Saturday (Aug. 31) afternoon’s Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at MBS featuring Alabama and Duke, fans can get fired up for the game at Tailgate Town Built By the Home Depot, the free outdoor fan experience featuring games, live entertainment, contests and interactive sponsor displays at the GWCCA’s International Plaza. Tailgate Town hours are 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, and the game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. Note: The same bag policy enforced at the stadium will be in effect for Tailgate Town.
