Final Four Semifinal Games Breaks Georgia Dome Basketball Attendance Record

ATLANTA (April 7, 2013) Fans that attended last night’s Final Four semifinal action inside the Georgia Dome set a new attendance record for basketball, with 75,350 fans filling the Dome. The previous record for a basketball game was 62,046 set on March 27, 1998 as the Atlanta Hawks hosted the Chicago Bulls in one of Michael Jordan’s final games.

The NCAA record for Final Four attendance is 75,421 set at the semifinal games of the Houston Final Four in 2011.

Last night’s Final Four semifinal games also ranked fourth among all Georgia Dome sporting events hosted.
