ATLANTA – (March 8, 2018) – The Georgia World Congress Center Authority’s (GWCCA) 220-acre downtown Atlanta campus and surrounding areas host a variety of overlapping events this weekend (March 9-11) including Jurassic Quest, Call of Duty World League Global Atlanta Open, and Starpower National Talent Competition at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC), the Atlanta United’s 2018 season home opener at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
In addition, adjacent to the GWCCA campus, Philips Arena hosts the Harlem Globetrotters for two shows on Saturday and the Atlanta Hawks-vs-Chicago Bulls on Sunday.
More than 100,000 visitors to the GWCAA campus and immediate surrounding area are anticipated. With the increased number of downtown visitors, attendees are encouraged to take MARTA, or if driving, purchase online parking passes in advance. The GWCCA campus is served by the Dome/GWCC/ Philips Arena/ CNN Center Station and the Vine City Station. Details on events taking place at the GWCC:
• The National Association of Independent Schools Annual Conference, Building B, closing session ends at 4:15 p.m. Friday.
• Call of Duty World League Atlanta Global Open video game tournament, Exhibition Hall B5, Friday through Sunday.
• Jurassic Quest dinosaur exhibit, Exhibition Halls A2-A3, 3-8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
• Starpower National Talent Competition, Georgia Ballroom, Building C, doors open at 3 p.m. Friday, 7 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
On International Plaza:
• American Family Insurance Fan Village, interactive pre-game festivities on outdoor plaza between the GWCC, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Philips Arena, scheduled for 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday has been cancelled due to forecasted inclement weather.
At Mercedes-Benz Stadium:
• Atlanta United FC vs. D.C. United, 3 p.m. Sunday.
